After everything comes back, I set the body on the old convertible frame. Later I made 8 inch spacers that would let me weld in those hard to get places. I swapped the disk brake system from the old convertible frame to the Lemans frame. Then I started on the blasted frame. I welded the side supports back on then painted the frame. Once it dried I assembled the rest of the parts that I had gotten ready earlier. I will mention that I used the 3.73 Chevy 12 bolt Posi that came with the GTO. It was supposedly a fresh rebuild so I had it blasted, opened it for inspection, replaced the oil then painted it before installation. Standing at the front of the finished project, I noticed something didn't look quite right. Off to the alignment shop. Apparently the front end had been replaced for a reason, everything on the front right corner of the frame was sorta bent out of alignment. More paint when it returned. I had already put primer on the body to keep it from rusting and had coated the entire bottom with truck bed liner.
